Guru Rao

Guru Rao is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of DigitalCarbon, a B2B artificial intelligence software company based in San Francisco, California. Prior to establishing his current venture, he served as the first employee and AI Lead at AssemblyAI, an enterprise artificial intelligence startup backed by the Y Combinator accelerator program during its 2017 batch. During his tenure at AssemblyAI, Rao was instrumental in scaling the organization's technical operations and workforce from a single employee to a dedicated team of over 100 personnel. He has been actively developing machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies since 2015, gaining extensive executive experience in early-stage enterprise growth, process optimization, and product execution. Today, his primary professional focus remains on driving strategic expansion and operational scaling for DigitalCarbon following the company's participation in a Summer 2024 technology startup cohort.
