Greg Kress is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shape, a health and fitness technology company based in San Francisco, California. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, before earning his Master's degree and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Following his doctoral studies, Kress served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford's Center for Design Research, where he specialized in mechatronics and rapid prototyping. In 2015, he established Shape to develop the ShapeScale 3D body scanner, subsequently leading the hardware startup through the Y Combinator accelerator program as part of its Winter 2015 batch. His current focus centers on overseeing the ongoing commercial rollout and software ecosystem for the ShapeScale platform while advancing consumer applications in computer vision and hardware engineering.
