Galen Burke is a plasma physicist, nuclear engineer, and the co-founder of Zephyr Fusion, a deep tech startup focused on developing advanced in-orbit fusion power systems. Before transitioning into the commercial space technology sector, he accumulated over 15 years of specialized domain expertise working in advanced diagnostics and applied plasma physics. His professional research background includes serving as a staff scientist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he contributed to complex nuclear energy initiatives. He also conducted extensive academic research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned his doctorate in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics. At Zephyr Fusion, he applies this extensive scientific background to design compact fusion reactors capable of sustaining long-term satellite operations.
