Freddy Vega is the Co-founder and CEO of Platzi, an online technology education platform, and divides his time between San Francisco and Bogotá, Colombia. Before launching the company, he built Cristalab, a prominent developer community, and partnered with co-founder Christian Van Der Henst to create the educational livestream platform Mejorando.la. Under his leadership, Platzi became the first Latin American-focused startup accepted into Y Combinator in 2015 and has since grown to serve over four million students globally. Vega subsequently guided the enterprise through multiple institutional financing rounds, securing early backing from Foundation Capital and 500 Startups before culminating in a $62 million Series B investment led by Prosus in 2021. As an Endeavor Entrepreneur, his current focus remains on scaling EdTech infrastructure to accelerate software development and digital skills training across the global Spanish-speaking market.
