Eric DeMenthon is an independent artificial intelligence researcher and occasional angel investor historically based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He previously served as the co-founder and lead software engineer of PadMapper, a consumer apartment rental search platform that participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2010 batch. DeMenthon scaled the Series A funded real estate technology startup over several years before it was successfully acquired by industry competitor Zumper in 2016. Following the corporate acquisition, he transitioned his primary professional focus toward advanced machine learning techniques and open-source software development. His current technical work involves finetuning large language models and exploring complex applications within deep learning and reinforcement learning. DeMenthon leverages his extensive background in consumer internet platforms and software engineering to advance early-stage artificial intelligence projects and financially support emerging technology startups.
