Eric Ciarla

Eric Ciarla is the Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Firecrawl, an API service that converts websites into clean markdown for artificial intelligence applications. Launched in April 2024 alongside co-founder Nicolas Camara, the open-source developer tool rapidly gained traction, accumulating over 15,000 GitHub stars within its first few months of operation. Prior to establishing Firecrawl, Ciarla co-founded Mendable in March 2022, an AI-powered search platform for developer documentation backed by Y Combinator. He also previously co-founded the software startup SideGuide before transitioning into the AI sector. His earlier technical experience includes working as a Data Engineer at Fracta from January to May 2022, and serving as a Data Scientist at Ford Motor Company in the summer of 2021. Ciarla currently focuses on go-to-market strategy and developing proprietary web scraping orchestration technologies to streamline data retrieval for large language models.
