Emily Weiss

Emily Weiss is the Founder and Executive Chairwoman of Glossier, based in New York City, New York. She earned a degree in Studio Art from New York University before working as a fashion assistant at Vogue and W Magazine. In 2010, Weiss launched the beauty blog Into The Gloss, which she subsequently leveraged to establish the direct-to-consumer cosmetics brand Glossier in 2014. Under her leadership as CEO, the company raised over $260 million in venture funding from firms including Sequoia Capital and Forerunner Ventures, reaching an estimated $1.8 billion valuation in 2021. She transitioned to her current board role in May 2022, overseeing strategic initiatives such as the brand's 2023 wholesale expansion into Sephora. Her primary focus remains on guiding corporate strategy and brand marketing within the global consumer beauty, retail, and ecommerce sectors.
