Elias Almqvist

Elias Almqvist is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Zettascale Computing Corp., an artificial intelligence hardware startup based in Silicon Valley, USA. A self-taught engineer since the age of nine, he previously studied computer science and computer architecture engineering at Chalmers University of Technology before dropping out of his master's program. Prior to establishing his current hardware venture in 2024, he founded Exa Laboratories, worked on embedded software for aerospace projects, and participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2024 batch alongside co-founder Prithvi Raj. At Zettascale, Almqvist leads the development of reconfigurable XPUs designed for data centers, targeting energy-efficient artificial intelligence workloads that aim to perform up to 27.6 times better than NVIDIA H100 GPUs. His current focus centers on advancing deep tech and high-performance computing architecture to solve critical energy constraints in enterprise AI scaling.
