Derek Lukacs

Derek Lukacs is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of RedBrick AI, a healthcare artificial intelligence startup based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Founded in 2020, the company provides a specialized SaaS platform for annotating 2D and 3D medical imaging data, including CT, MRI, and X-ray scans. Under his technical leadership, RedBrick AI participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2022 batch and subsequently secured a $4.6 million seed funding round led by Surge to expand its engineering team and customer base. Prior to his current venture, he earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, where he co-founded the institution's SpaceX Hyperloop pod competition team alongside RedBrick AI Chief Executive Officer Shivam Sharma. Lukacs currently focuses on advancing specialized annotation tooling to accelerate the development and deployment of clinical machine learning models.
