David Zhu is the co-founder and builder of Percival, an artificial intelligence software startup based in San Francisco, United States. The company, which operates with a three-person team, is participating in the Y Combinator Spring 2025 batch to develop an AI copilot that automates data entry, analysis, and enterprise resource planning integration for wholesalers and distributors. Prior to launching Percival in early 2025, Zhu worked as an engineering manager at Scale AI, where he built and scaled core infrastructure systems managing global contributor payouts, user onboarding, and project matching for the platform. He previously attended Harvard University, where he initially connected with his current business partner and Percival co-founder, Kevin Bi. Zhu's current work focuses on applying machine learning to traditional supply chain workflows and streamlining business-to-business data automation across the broader distribution sector.
