Dan Patel

Dan Patel is a co-founder and frontend engineer at Trigger.dev, an open-source platform for building AI workflows and background jobs, based in London, United Kingdom. He established the developer tools company in 2022 alongside fellow co-founders Matt Aitken, Eric Allam, and James Ritchie, subsequently participating in the Y Combinator Winter 2023 accelerator batch. In early 2024, Patel helped lead the official launch of the platform's third version, introducing a new serverless architecture designed to execute long-running background tasks without execution timeouts. Prior to this venture, he served as a product lead at several venture-backed technology startups and co-created JSON Hero, a popular open-source developer utility that has accumulated thousands of stars on GitHub.
