Cristina Junqueira

Cristina Junqueira is the Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Nubank, based in São Paulo, Brazil. Before launching the digital bank alongside David Vélez, she managed a credit card portfolio at Itaú Unibanco and worked as a strategic consultant at Boston Consulting Group. She holds engineering degrees from the University of São Paulo and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Under her leadership, Nubank expanded across Latin America to surpass 100 million customers by 2024 and completed a 2021 initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. The financial technology company subsequently reached a market capitalization exceeding $60 billion by early 2026, elevating her personal net worth to approximately $1.5 billion. Junqueira currently focuses on scaling consumer financial services and driving broader financial inclusion throughout Latin American emerging markets.
