Colin Devine

Colin Devine is a Co-founder at BotBuilt, a construction technology and robotics startup currently based in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to launching the company alongside co-founders Brent Wadas and Barrett Ames, he pursued a doctorate in political science with a specific focus on housing policy at Duke University. His earlier academic background includes earning a Master of Arts degree from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame. In January 2024, Devine helped lead BotBuilt to successfully secure a $12.4 million seed funding round aimed at scaling its automated residential framing systems. Transitioning from academic research to the built environment sector, he applies his policy training directly to practical startup operations. His current focus centers on leveraging robotic engineering to address national housing shortages through advanced manufacturing and automated construction solutions.
