Clovis Piedallu is the Co-founder of Tornyol, an autonomous robotics startup, and is currently based in France. Alongside co-founder Alex Toussaint, he engineers 40-gram micro-drones designed to autonomously hunt and eliminate mosquitoes to combat vector-borne diseases such as malaria. To support early hardware development and prototyping, the company secured a $28,600 grant from Manifund before being accepted into the Y Combinator Fall 2025 batch. Piedallu brings deep technical expertise in drone flight control and reinforcement learning, having completed his engineering education at the French institution CentraleSupelec. What began as a conceptual joke between the founders has evolved into a serious engineering effort aimed at disrupting traditional disease prevention methods. His current focus centers on leveraging artificial intelligence and autonomous hardware to achieve a targeted 100x cost reduction in global pest control and public health initiatives.
