Clément Salaün

Clément Salaün is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Formance, a fintech infrastructure company based in Paris, Île-de-France, France. He established the open-source payment orchestration platform in 2021, participating in the Y Combinator Summer 2021 batch before securing a $3.1 million seed round and a subsequent €20 million Series A led by XAnge in 2023. Under his leadership, Formance has scaled to serve over 100 clients, including major financial institutions like Société Générale, by providing modular payment workflows and financial ledgers. Prior to this venture, Salaün co-founded and managed product development at Selency, an online furniture marketplace that generated over €50 million in revenue before its acquisition by Habitat in 2020. An alumnus of École Polytechnique, his career centers on building scalable software architecture and advancing open banking infrastructure for complex financial services.
