Chris Markus is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of BootLoop, a Y Combinator-backed artificial intelligence platform focused on accelerating custom firmware generation and automated testing. Prior to establishing this enterprise software startup, he served as the lead software engineer for the highly complex Starship booster catch system at SpaceX. During his tenure at the aerospace manufacturer, Markus built the foundational firmware for the Raptor rocket engine, guiding the critical hardware from its initial first fire tests through to actual flight operations. His earlier engineering career includes working as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab designing EEG electronics, as well as serving as the firmware lead for an FDA-authorized medical ventilator. Markus currently focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to streamline embedded systems development across the aerospace, neuromorphic computing, and medical hardware sectors.
