CHARLES BAI

Charles Bai is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Paces, an artificial intelligence software platform for green infrastructure developers based in New York City. Prior to establishing the company in 2022, he worked as a software engineer at Meta AI, where he led artificial intelligence efficiency initiatives and managed large model inference systems. He previously built data-intensive software solutions across various early-stage technology startups after earning a computer science degree from Cornell University. Under his technical leadership, Paces participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2022 cohort and subsequently secured an $11 million Series A funding round in July 2024 to expand its site selection software. Recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Energy, Bai currently focuses on deploying agentic AI infrastructure to accelerate renewable energy and climate tech projects across the power sector.
