Caleb Banister

Caleb Banister is the Co-Founder and Principal Engineer of LayerZero Labs, a blockchain interoperability protocol based in Vancouver, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire, where he began his career as a Software Developer at the UNH InterOperability Lab in 2005. Prior to his current venture, Banister co-founded multiple technology startups alongside Bryan Pellegrino and Ryan Zarick, including the mobile app consultancy Coder Den in 2010 and the machine learning firm Minimal AI in 2019. In 2021, the trio launched LayerZero Labs, which has since processed over 100 million cross-chain messages and secured a $120 million Series B funding round at a $3 billion valuation from investors including Sequoia Capital. His current focus centers on developing secure multichain infrastructure and advancing cross-chain communication technologies.
