Caitlin Bolnick Rellas serves as a General Partner at CRV, a distinguished venture capital firm known for its early-stage investments in groundbreaking technology companies. In her role, Caitlin is instrumental in identifying and partnering with visionary founders who are building the next generation of enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and developer tools.

Her investment focus at CRV primarily centers on seed and Series A rounds for companies innovating in areas such as enterprise SaaS, AI/ML platforms, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and developer-centric solutions. Caitlin is particularly drawn to technically strong founders who are tackling complex problems with elegant, scalable solutions. She seeks out companies that demonstrate clear product market fit potential and have the capacity to disrupt established industries or create entirely new markets.

Before joining CRV in 2021, Caitlin brought a wealth of entrepreneurial and legal experience to the venture capital world. She was the co-founder and CEO of Trellis Research, an AI-powered legal analytics platform that significantly enhanced legal research capabilities. Under her leadership, Trellis successfully developed and scaled its technology before being acquired by Casetext, a prominent legal tech company. This firsthand experience as a founder provides Caitlin with invaluable empathy and insight into the challenges and triumphs faced by early-stage entrepreneurs.

Prior to her entrepreneurial journey, Caitlin honed her analytical and strategic skills as a litigator at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, a top-tier law firm. Her legal background, coupled with her experience building and exiting a technology company, gives her a unique perspective on product development, market strategy, and team building. She holds a Juris Doctor from UC Berkeley School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley.

Caitlin's notable investments and board involvement at CRV include companies like Pim (an AI-powered data privacy platform), Mage (an ML platform), Finch (an API for payroll and HR data), Common Room (a community engagement platform), and Rivet (developer tools for Web3). She also serves as a board observer for Vanta, a leader in security and compliance automation. Her portfolio reflects her commitment to backing companies that are not only technologically advanced but also poised for significant market impact.
