Cafer Ozdemir

Cafer Ozdemir is a co-founder of Kernal Biologics, an mRNA therapeutics biotechnology company currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. He began his scientific career by earning a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the UT Southwestern Medical Center, focusing primarily on advanced genetic mechanisms. Following his doctoral research, Ozdemir completed extensive postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and subsequently served as a biochemistry instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He later transitioned from these elite academic institutions into the private sector to co-found Kernel, a neurotechnology startup that successfully raised over $200 million in venture funding. Today, he directly applies his extensive academic expertise to the commercial development of specialized mRNA therapeutics at his current venture.
