Brian Maurer

Brian Maurer is the Co-Founder and Commercial Lead of Bristle, an oral microbiome testing company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He established the venture-backed biotechnology startup in 2020 to develop preventative healthcare solutions utilizing advanced genomic sequencing technologies for dental applications. Under his commercial leadership, Bristle successfully participated in the Y Combinator accelerator program during the Summer 2021 batch to scale its initial operations. Prior to launching his own enterprise, Maurer built an extensive professional background in genomics sales and marketing through specialized commercial roles at major industry firms, including Illumina and Twist Bioscience. During his tenure at these organizations, he specialized in driving market adoption for novel sequencing platforms and expanding the commercial footprint of emerging biotech products. His current focus remains centered on translating complex genomic technologies into accessible, preventative clinical applications for healthcare providers.
