Benjamin Garvey

Benjamin Garvey is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Common Paper, a venture-backed legal technology startup based in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Prior to launching the venture in 2020, he served as Director of Engineering at Betterment and Vice President of Engineering at RJMetrics. Following the successful acquisition of RJMetrics, Garvey held subsequent engineering leadership positions at Magento and Adobe, accumulating over twenty years of experience building scalable software teams. At Common Paper, he directs product development and technical strategy for a platform that has facilitated tens of thousands of standardized commercial contract downloads and secured a $4.5 million seed funding round. His current focus centers on accelerating enterprise deal closures through open-source standards and application programming interfaces, enabling business-to-business software users to finalize 63% of their agreements within 24 hours.
