Ben Smith

Ben Smith is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Skope, an artificial intelligence software startup based in San Francisco, California. The company, which currently operates with approximately two employees, develops B2B AI agents designed to automate core legal workflows for boutique and SMB law firms. Under his direction, Skope secured backing and was accepted into the Y Combinator accelerator program as part of its Summer 2025 batch. Prior to launching this legal technology platform, Smith gained professional industry experience working at Merit and cultivated early retail commerce skills by independently selling shoes, trading cards, and collectibles. He dropped out of his university studies at the age of 20 to dedicate himself entirely to building commercial software applications. His current focus remains on scaling Skope to modernize traditional legal operations through targeted artificial intelligence solutions.
