Avni Patel Thompson

Avni Patel Thompson is the Founder and CEO of Modern Village, a family technology startup based in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a third-time entrepreneur, she previously founded the family organization application Milo in 2020 and the childcare marketplace Poppy. Poppy participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2016 cohort and successfully served thousands of families across the Seattle area before ceasing operations. Prior to entering the technology startup sector, Thompson spent over a decade managing consumer businesses and global brand strategies at Procter & Gamble, adidas, and Starbucks. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia. Her professional background combines extensive corporate consumer goods experience with a current focus on building collaborative software systems for modern family caregiving.
