Arvid Ernst Gollwitzer

Arvid Ernst Gollwitzer is the Founder of Anto Biosciences and a researcher based between Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Zurich, Switzerland. He concurrently serves as a researcher at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and holds a position as a lecturer at ETH Zurich. Alongside co-founder David de Gruijl, Gollwitzer recently launched Anto Biosciences to develop the first computable gut microbiome model for the biotechnology sector. The startup builds a multimodal artificial intelligence foundation model designed to analyze microbial communities, enabling pharmaceutical developers to predict drug toxicity, improve efficacy, and optimize therapeutic responses. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he authored peer-reviewed research in Nature, pioneering microbiome sparsification techniques that allow scientists to process highly noisy microbial datasets. His current focus centers on bridging advanced academic life sciences research with commercial artificial intelligence applications to accelerate early-stage drug development.
