Arend Naylor is a serial technology entrepreneur and the former Chief Technology Officer of Koan, currently based in Portland, Oregon. As a two-time Y Combinator alumnus, he previously co-founded and served as CTO for two accelerator-backed technology startups, including Embedster in the Winter 2010 batch and Bitplay, the creator of Meetings.io, in the Winter 2011 batch. Following the successful acquisition of Meetings.io by Jive Software, Naylor transitioned into senior engineering leadership roles within the acquiring organization. In 2017, he co-founded Koan, a business-to-business software-as-a-service platform focused on corporate objectives and key results tracking, where he directed the technical strategy until the company was acquired by Quantive in April 2022. His professional background centers on architecting, building, and scaling team productivity applications, video communication platforms, and enterprise software solutions through multiple successful startup exit events.
