Ankur Gupta is a physician-entrepreneur, former healthcare venture capitalist, and the Founder of the medical technology startup Spect. He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from Stanford University, where he also completed the Stanford Biodesign program, before receiving his medical degree from UT Southwestern. Following his early career in healthcare venture capital, Gupta pursued extensive clinical training as an ophthalmologist. He completed his ophthalmology residency rotations across a network of prominent medical institutions, including the National Eye Institute at the NIH, the University of Chicago, Geisinger, and Stanford Medicine. Applying his specialized medical expertise to the broader startup ecosystem, he has founded a total of three distinct companies and actively mentors several emerging founders in the medtech space. His current professional focus centers on bridging clinical ophthalmology with medical technology innovation to develop and scale new healthcare solutions.
