Andrew Spielberg

Andrew Spielberg is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of MorphoAI, an artificial intelligence and robotics startup based in New York. Backed by Y Combinator as part of its P25 cohort, the enterprise employs a team of seven and focuses on developing algorithmic design and manufacturing solutions for complex cyber-physical systems. Prior to launching the venture in 2024, he served as a robotics professor at Carnegie Mellon University and conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2021. His highly cited academic dissertation at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory centered on optimizing robot morphology and control systems. Spielberg's current professional focus remains on bridging the simulation-to-reality gap through machine learning to accelerate the physical development of industrial machinery, lab automation, and surgical devices.
