Andrew Bass

Andrew Bass is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Poka Labs, an artificial intelligence platform for chemical manufacturing operations based in San Francisco, California. Before launching the Y Combinator-backed enterprise in 2024, he worked as a software engineer at Meta focusing on critical data infrastructure systems. He previously developed optimization software at an acquired early-stage startup, creating technical solutions that helped mobility companies increase their revenue by 40 percent. Bass holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Economics from NC State University, alongside dual MBA and Master of Science in Engineering degrees from Harvard University. In February 2025, he presented on AI agents for chemical operations at a SOCMA industry event. His current focus centers on bridging engineering and business through machine learning systems designed to automate industrial production scheduling.
