Anders Forslund is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Heart Aerospace, an electric aviation manufacturer based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Before launching the company, he earned a doctorate in aerospace design from Chalmers University of Technology, where he worked as a researcher focused on aircraft product development and manufacturing. An alumnus of Y Combinator's Winter 2019 batch, Forslund has led Heart Aerospace to secure more than $190 million in total venture funding from prominent investors including Breakthrough Energy Ventures and United Airlines. Under his leadership, the startup closed a $107 million Series B funding round in early 2024 to accelerate the engineering and certification of the ES-30, a thirty-seat hybrid-electric regional airplane. His current focus centers on commercializing sustainable aerospace hardware to decarbonize regional air mobility and fulfill hundreds of conditional commercial aircraft orders.
