Amir Khan is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Alkira, a cloud networking company based in San Jose, California. Before launching Alkira, he founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Viptela, an enterprise software-defined networking provider that Cisco acquired for $610 million in August 2017. Earlier in his career, Khan held various engineering and leadership positions within the telecommunications and enterprise IT infrastructure sectors. Under his leadership, Alkira has secured more than $170 million in total venture capital financing, which includes a $100 million Series C funding round led by Tiger Global in May 2024. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and holds multiple patents in computer networking technologies. His current focus centers on advancing enterprise cloud infrastructure and expanding Network-as-a-Service platforms.
