Aly Murray

Aly Murray is the Founder and Executive Director of UPchieve, an educational technology nonprofit based in New York City that provides free academic support to underserved students. Before launching this organization in 2017, she worked in finance as an analyst and associate at JP Morgan. Drawing from her own experiences as a low-income Hispanic student and proud community college graduate, she later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016. Under her leadership, UPchieve has successfully scaled to facilitate hundreds of thousands of free, on-demand tutoring sessions for thousands of youth, earning her formal recognition on the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Education. Her current work focuses on leveraging technology to democratize access to college counseling, scale volunteer-driven academic support platforms, and promote long-term educational equity.
