Alireza Mohammadshahi

Alireza Mohammadshahi is the Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Leeroo, an artificial intelligence startup developing continuously learning AI agents. The company recently joined the Y Combinator Spring 2025 batch and secured $850,000 in early funding from investors including Cornerstone VC. Prior to launching Leeroo, he served as a Staff Scientist at Meta AI, where he developed LLM-as-a-judge systems and Neural Databases. He also worked as an AI researcher at NAVERLABS, building compact multilingual large language models that have contributed to open-source projects with over one million global downloads. Mohammadshahi holds a PhD in Machine Learning from EPFL and previously conducted research at the University of Zurich and the Idiap Research Institute. His current focus centers on translating deep academic research in natural language processing into organizational AI agents for enterprise data teams.
