Alex Farrill

Alex Farrill is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Deferred, a venture-backed real estate technology platform focused on tax-deferred investing that recently secured $3.6 million in seed funding from B Capital and Fika Ventures. At Deferred, he builds secure, scalable infrastructure for financial services and recently helped acquire Plenti Financial to manage nearly 7,000 historical 1031 exchanges. Previously, he served as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Open Listings, a Y Combinator-backed homebuying platform that was acquired by Opendoor in 2018. Following this acquisition, Farrill transitioned to Opendoor as the Head of Engineering for Buyer Experience, building on his earlier success as Chief Data Scientist at Run, which Publicis acquired in 2014. Earlier in his career, he founded the technology studio sofn.xyz, cementing his strong engineering background in modernizing property transactions and marketplace platforms.
