Alex Chen

Alex Chen is a technology entrepreneur and software engineer currently serving as a Co-founder of Gather, a remote-first company based in the United States. He co-founded the virtual communication platform in May 2020 to facilitate remote interactions through customizable 2D spaces, successfully scaling the SaaS product to millions of users globally. Under his technical and product leadership, Gather has secured more than $70 million in total venture capital funding, including a $50 million Series B round in November 2021 backed by prominent institutional investors such as Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, and Y Combinator. Prior to establishing this enterprise, Chen studied computer science and software engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, building his foundational technical expertise. His current professional focus remains on advancing digital communication infrastructure and developing scalable virtual metaverse environments for distributed teams.
