Alaz Sengul

Alaz Sengul is the co-founder of Garage, an AI-powered marketplace for essential vehicles and equipment, based in New York. Founded in 2023, the startup participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2024 batch and has raised $13.5 million in funding with backing from YC partner Jared Friedman. Garage currently employs 20 people and focuses on automating transactions, appraisals, payments, and financing for public safety departments. Prior to launching his current venture, Sengul studied at Columbia University and worked as a software engineer at Twitter and MemAI. Alongside his engineering career, he completed over 1,500 hours of training and service as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. His current focus centers on leveraging artificial intelligence to modernize the procurement and liquidation of specialized municipal and emergency response vehicles.
