Akshay Ramaswamy is the Co-founder and Co-CEO of Alma, a venture-backed legal technology startup based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Alongside co-founder Richard Lin, he leads the strategic and technical direction of the platform, which emerged from stealth in mid-2024 with initial venture funding. Alma focuses on modernizing the United States immigration system by streamlining applications for high-leverage pathways, specifically targeting O-1, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW visas for technologists and researchers. Prior to launching his current enterprise, Ramaswamy conducted academic research focused on artificial intelligence and computer science. He completed his higher education at Stanford University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science. His current professional focus centers on leveraging artificial intelligence and software to optimize complex legal workflows within the immigration sector.
