Ajay Mehta

Ajay Mehta is the Seattle-based Founder and President of Portola and the Founder and CEO of Birthdate Co., which has sold over one million personalized consumer products since 2019. He also recently launched the viral artificial intelligence companion application Tolan through Portola and co-founded the mental health brand Therapy Notebooks. Previously, he served as Director of International at Wealthsimple, held product and growth roles at Tilt before its acquisition by Airbnb, and co-founded the Y Combinator-backed startup FamilyLeaf. Mehta earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Columbia University and maintains an active portfolio of early-stage investments in consumer companies like Sanzo, Magic Mind, and The Juggernaut. His extensive career building and scaling consumer technology platforms has earned his brands features in major media outlets including the New York Times, CNN, and the Today Show.
