Adedapo Sobayo

Adedapo Sobayo is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Rank, formerly Moni Africa, a financial technology company based in Lagos, Nigeria. Under his technical leadership, the Y Combinator-backed startup raised $4 million in total funding from investors like Magic Fund and acquired Zazzau in November 2025. Prior to rebranding, the platform disbursed over $5 million in loans with a 99% repayment rate and onboarded more than 36,000 merchants by the third quarter of 2023. Before launching the company with co-founder Femi Iromini, Sobayo served as Head of Risk at Zedvance and worked in credit analytics at SEL Capital Finance. He began his career at Zenith Bank and holds an Economics degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. His current focus centers on developing scalable engineering strategies to expand financial inclusion and community-powered lending across Africa.
