Adam Mhatre

Adam Mhatre is the co-founder of Photonium, an AI-powered optical consulting and software startup. He studied computational physics at Stanford University, where his academic research focused on plasma simulation for fusion energy and large-scale astrophysical modeling of black holes. Mhatre launched Photonium as part of the Y Combinator P25 batch alongside co-founder Jennifer Song, who previously worked at the Google-backed quantum startup QuEra. Operating as a three-person team as of early 2026, the company develops software to address inefficiencies in optical system design for high-tech industries. His work targets the streamlining of design workflows from concept to production across sectors including quantum technology, biomedical imaging, autonomous vehicle LiDAR, and semiconductor metrology. Mhatre currently focuses on leveraging his computational physics expertise to build deep tech solutions that automate complex optical engineering processes.
