Abdulhamid Hassan is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mono, an open banking infrastructure platform based in Lagos, Nigeria. Prior to launching Mono, he served as a Product Manager at Paystack, a major African payment gateway acquired by Stripe, and co-founded the offline payment startup OyaPay. Under his leadership, Mono participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2021 batch and subsequently scaled its operations to process millions of financial data API calls. In October 2021, Hassan directed the company's $15 million Series A funding round, which was led by Tiger Global. He also oversaw the platform's geographic expansion into Kenya in May 2022 to broaden its continental reach. His current focus centers on developing API infrastructure to facilitate seamless financial data integration and payments across the African technology ecosystem.
