Key people at The Arab Energy Fund.
The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF) is a multilateral impact financial institution providing comprehensive financing solutions across the energy value chain. It supports both the hydrocarbon sector and invests in new energy solutions through corporate banking, strategic investments, and treasury and capital markets activities. The institution’s technical approach focuses on advancing energy security, enabling sustainability, and developing local value chains within its member states and the broader MENA region.
TAEF commenced operations in 1975, established by an international agreement signed and ratified by the ten member states of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). The founding insight was to create a specialized financial entity dedicated to supporting the energy ecosystem through comprehensive financing, recognizing the critical role of energy in regional economic prosperity and security.
The institution serves its member states, along with a diverse range of sovereign wealth funds, global financial institutions, and private sector partners involved in the energy sector. TAEF’s long-term vision is to enable a secure and sustainable energy future for the region, fostering economic prosperity and actively supporting the transition towards more sustainable energy solutions across the MENA region.
