Sunflower Fund

Sunflower F.U.N.D. is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to providing direct financial assistance to Ukrainian nonprofit organizations. The fund operates on a model ensuring 100% of all donations reach Ukraine within 24 hours, focusing on immediate procurement of goods and services. Its approach emphasizes direct verification of expenditures and needs through on-the-ground visits, maintaining transparency and accountability in its humanitarian efforts.

The organization was founded by Markéta Vorel, a University of Washington School of Law graduate with a background in estate planning and nonprofit service. Vorel established Sunflower F.U.N.D. following her first humanitarian mission to Ukraine in 2023, driven by her personal experience growing up under Russian oppression in Czechoslovakia, which resonated with the 2022 invasion.

Sunflower F.U.N.D. serves the urgent needs of civilians and their defenders across Ukraine, channeling support through vetted local partners. These beneficiaries include women and children’s shelters, humanitarian relief efforts, and aid for armed forces. The organization’s overarching vision is to persist in its mission until all Ukrainian people are free, providing critical support during ongoing conflict.
