The company was founded by Seth Orza, a former professional dancer with the New York City Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet. His journey began after sustaining an injury that revealed the inadequacy of conventional ballet slippers, leading him to create makeshift solutions. Recognizing that many colleagues faced similar issues with centuries-old shoe designs, Orza was driven by the insight that modern athletic demands necessitated a scientifically engineered solution, embarking on a fourteen-year development process culminating in the product launch in 2023.
