Mineflow is an AI platform for mineral exploration. We generate predictions for mineral deposit shapes and locations, empowering mining companies from initial exploration to advanced feasibility studies.
Geologists need to know precisely where their deposits are because drilling is expensive. In early trials with a lithium mining company, we found that Mineflow predicts the shape of hard rock lithium deposits more than an order of magnitude more accurately than our competitors.
Ryan received a BS in Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon's School of Computer Science where he helped teach both the grad-level Deep Learning course and the grad-level Search Engines course. He built ML models at Google in the Display Ads optimization org for 2 years and launched products that generated ~125m USD in ARR.

Mineflow is an AI-driven platform founded in 2024 that specializes in predicting the shape and location of mineral deposits to support mining companies in exploration and feasibility studies. It builds advanced deep learning models that analyze geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to generate precise 2D prospectivity maps and 3D resource models. By providing highly accurate predictions, Mineflow helps mining companies optimize drilling programs, reduce wasted investment, and improve decision-making throughout the mineral exploration process. Its primary customers are mining companies, exploration teams, and geological consultants seeking to enhance resource discovery and extraction efficiency[1][2][3].
Mineflow was founded in 2024 in San Francisco by Ryan Goggins. The idea emerged from the need to improve the accuracy and efficiency of mineral exploration, which traditionally relies on labor-intensive and imprecise geological analysis. Early traction came from collaborations with geologists who provided exploration site data, enabling Mineflow to develop custom AI models tailored to specific sites. This hands-on approach helped Mineflow demonstrate superior predictive accuracy, especially in complex geological settings like hard rock lithium deposits[1][4].
Mineflow rides the wave of AI and machine learning transforming traditional industries by automating and enhancing complex data analysis. The timing is critical as surface-level mineral discoveries decline, pushing mining companies to explore deeper and more complex underground deposits. Market forces such as increasing demand for critical minerals (e.g., lithium for batteries) and the need for sustainable, cost-effective mining solutions favor AI-driven exploration tools. Mineflow’s technology accelerates mineral discovery, reduces environmental impact by optimizing drilling, and influences the broader mining ecosystem by setting new standards for geological modeling[1].
Looking ahead, Mineflow aims to become the industry standard for AI-driven geological modeling by developing a family of foundation models capable of accurately predicting subsurface compositions globally. Trends such as the electrification of transport, renewable energy expansion, and resource scarcity will drive demand for precise mineral exploration technologies. As Mineflow scales, its influence is likely to expand beyond mining companies to include governments and environmental agencies focused on responsible resource management. Continued innovation in AI and integration with broader mining workflows will be key to its growth and ecosystem impact[1].
Mineflow’s pioneering approach to mineral exploration exemplifies how AI can transform resource industries by delivering precision, efficiency, and sustainability in an increasingly resource-constrained world.
