Key people at MicroEval.
MicroEval was founded in 2012 by Ernie Park (Founder/CTO) and Ryan Jackson (Founder) and Sam O'Keefe (Founder/Head of Business Development).
MicroEval will help you create modern, helpful performance reviews.
It’s the day of your annual performance review. You’re nervous, and rightfully so! After this meeting you’ll know whether or not you got that raise, if your work has been acceptable or if you should start looking for a new job. No one likes them. In fact, we didn’t even like them...that is until we decided that they didn’t have to be this way.
Why shouldn’t performance reviews be helpful? Why shouldn’t they help you improve and grow your skillset? Exactly what we thought.
Inspired by personal experiences, our team came together to help transform the performance review process into a worthwhile, meaningful and easy process.
Who are we to take on this challenge you ask?

Key people at MicroEval.
MicroEval is a performance management tool designed to transform how companies conduct employee reviews by shifting from infrequent, formal evaluations to frequent, bite-sized feedback sessions. This approach aims to make performance reviews more continuous, less stressful, and more actionable for both employees and managers. MicroEval serves HR teams and organizations seeking to improve employee engagement and development by enabling real-time, ongoing feedback rather than relying solely on traditional annual or biannual reviews. This method addresses the common pain points of performance management, such as feedback delays and the anxiety of formal review meetings, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and communication.
MicroEval was launched with the vision to alleviate the burdensome and often ineffective traditional performance review process. Emerging from the Y Combinator accelerator program, MicroEval was introduced around 2012 as a startup focused on breaking down the performance review into smaller, more manageable feedback moments rather than a single, high-pressure event every six to twelve months. The founders recognized that frequent, informal feedback could significantly improve employee development and organizational communication, leading to better performance outcomes. Early traction came from companies eager to adopt a more agile and employee-friendly review process, validating the concept of continuous feedback over periodic evaluations.
MicroEval rides the broader trend toward agile, employee-centric HR technologies that prioritize continuous performance management over traditional, rigid review cycles. The timing is favorable as companies increasingly recognize the limitations of annual reviews and seek tools that support real-time feedback, employee development, and retention. Market forces such as remote work, digital transformation, and the need for more personalized employee experiences drive demand for solutions like MicroEval. By promoting a culture of ongoing feedback, MicroEval influences the HR tech ecosystem toward more adaptive and human-centered performance management practices.
Looking ahead, MicroEval’s approach aligns well with evolving workplace expectations for transparency, agility, and employee empowerment. Future developments may include deeper AI integration for feedback analysis, enhanced customization, and broader platform integrations to embed continuous feedback into daily workflows seamlessly. As organizations increasingly prioritize employee experience and development, MicroEval’s influence could grow, potentially shaping new standards for performance management that emphasize ongoing dialogue over episodic evaluation. This continuous feedback philosophy may become a cornerstone in how companies nurture talent and drive performance in the coming years.
