Kyushu Railway Company

Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) operates intercity rail services, including Shinkansen bullet trains and commuter lines totaling 2,342.6 km, across Kyushu, Japan, headquartered in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. The publicly traded company, which went public via IPO in October 2016, employs approximately 14,677 individuals, generates annual revenue of around $2.8 billion, and holds a market capitalization of JP¥653.954 billion. Beyond its core rail operations, JR Kyushu manages a diversified portfolio of non-rail businesses, encompassing hotels, restaurants, real estate, retail, and drugstores, which now contribute about 60% of its sales and most profits.
