Karolinska Development is a Swedish investment company based in Solna, Stockholm County, that identifies medical innovations from Karolinska Institutet and other Nordic research institutes, investing in and growing companies to develop differentiated products for patients with life-threatening or debilitating diseases. The firm builds these early-stage biotech companies with leading scientists and experienced management, often co-funded by specialist investors like Rosetta Capital. Its portfolio currently comprises 10 companies, with one transaction involving a portfolio valuation of $225 million. The company, which employs 21-50 individuals, completed a $33 million deal with a Rosetta Capital syndicate for stakes in 13 portfolio companies, leaving approximately $75 million in cash. Notable portfolio company Dilaforette was renamed Modus Therapeutics Holding AB, and its board includes Anna Lefevre Skjöldebrand and Ben Toogood, with Conny Bogentoft serving as CEO. Karolinska Development was founded in 2003.
