Karlin Asset Management is a Los Angeles, California-based family office managing investments across private equity, real estate, natural resources, and public and private securities. The firm invests principal capital in commercial and multifamily real estate, managing over $1.4 billion in capital through subsidiary businesses like Karlin Real Estate and Highview Capital. Karlin Real Estate has acquired and financed close to $2 billion in transactions since 2009, including a current multifamily mega campus exceeding 1 million square feet in Austin, Texas. Highview Capital, another subsidiary, added two platform investments in 2023. The firm manages wealth for its principal client, Gary, a former spinal surgeon and inventor. Karlin Asset Management was founded in 2005 by David Cohen, who also co-founded Karlin Real Estate in 2009 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer.
