Kakao Page

Kakao Page, based in Pangyo Techno Valley, Gyeonggi, South Korea, operates a monetized mobile content platform specializing in webtoons, genre fiction, and various visual, audio, and written content. It functions as a digital marketplace for creators, monetizing content through subscriptions and paid access. Owned by Kakao Entertainment, Kakao Page has expanded its international reach, entering markets such as Indonesia in 2018 and Taiwan in 2020. Its parent company, Kakao, founded by Kim Beom-soo, acquired the predecessor Podo Tree, which was founded by Lee Jin-soo. Kakao also launched Piccoma, a Japanese webtoon service, in 2016, solidifying its digital content presence. The service itself launched in April 2013, following the founding of its predecessor Podo Tree in July 2010 by Lee Jin-soo.
